CLOSER TO JESUS
It is our sincere prayer that the focus of the coming days will bring you closer to Christ Jesus in Whom we find comfort, peace, and rescue. Make full use of any and many of the opportunities and resources to bless you during Passion Week:
This Sunday is Palm Sunday, which begins Passion Week—the week that commemorates Jesus’ death and resurrection. It may be different this year, but you can still spend time with Jesus. You can be intentional about walking with Him and being in the Word. Click the above icon for the Jesus Calling Passion Week devotional reader, which includes suggested Scripture readings for each day to follow along on the events in Jesus' life that week, along with a bonus free printable Holy Week prayer journal for reflection.
PREPARING FOR EASTER
We encourage you all to participate in a devotional activity designed to help all of us be intentional in the way that we Listen to, Talk to, Worship, and Love God. Focused on Deuteronomy 6:4-9, this week long exercise takes five to ten minutes a day and is a wonderful preparation for the Easter weekend.
Download the PDF here, or stop by Facebook for daily updates.
Our Easter experience will culminate with virtual communion as a part of the church-wide Easter program, Broken to Peace. Be sure to make plans during the week to participate. Though we are separated, we are made One through the Body of Christ.
BROKEN TO PEACE • SATURDAY • APRIL 11TH • BEGINNING 9:00AM CDT
All are invited to our virtual celebration of Christ Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection in three continuous, yet unique, expressions; Including an online celebration of the ordinance of humility and communion. The online experience will begin 9:00AM, CDT, Sabbath, April 11th on our church broadcast platform. It will be simulcast on the Arlington Adventist Facebook page. Gather family and friends [virtually] for our Easter commemoration.
Making this Easter More Meaningful
In many ways this will be an Easter unlike any other we have experienced. We invite you to participate and lean into these opportunities and practices with an open and willing heart.
CONNECT
We want to make sure no one feels isolated or lonely during this time of social distancing! That's why we want you to take part in the Connect Challenge, which encourages everyone to do something to connect (virtually) with others. Let's make sure that no one misses out on the grace of God during this stressful time. Reach out via text or phone to at least two members of our church family! Ask them how they're doing. Share something that has encouraged you. Pray with them and for them. Click here or the above icon to participate.
Revive Community Care “Adopt-a-Member.” If you feel impressed to connect and check in on our senior adults, we would encourage you to sign up as we intentionally keep touch with our more at-risk members. Click here to sign up.
CARE
Cooperating with community efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and taking established health precautions is an exceptional way to take care of each other, especially our health care workers and most at-risk populations. Following the CDC’s recommendations is the ideal guide for steps you, your family and friends can take. Click here or the above icon for the CDC guidelines. Member Assistance. Many of you are experiencing new situations and hardship due to COVID-19. Our church cares about what you are going through & REVIVE Community Care exists for times like these. If you need assistance, let us know how we can help you by clicking here.
CONTRIBUTE
In the midst and wake of the pandemic, our church will continue to play a vital role in the lives of our members and community in need. This season we not only need to be generous, but we are also asking for each of us to sacrificially give in order for our church to help and provide tangible care to those in need. LORD OF ALL
EASTER REFLECTION: LORD OF ALL
In this season, let us intentionally focus on Christ Jesus.
Dear friend and composer, Elia King shares a wonderful song for us to adopt and reflect upon. We'll be singing it Easter weekend, so we hope you will enjoy and learn it beginning today.
In the fire, in the flood
Through the need and through enough
We say Jesus, You are Lord of all
In the light, in the dark
With our lips and with our hearts
We say Jesus, You are Lord of all
Ever faithful, ever true
Ever sure to see us through
We surrender all to you
We say Jesus, You are Lord of all
In the sun, in the rain
Through the joy and through the pain
We say Jesus, You are Lord of all
In the calm, in the storm
When we sing and when we mourn
We say Jesus, You are Lord of all
Ever faithful, ever true
Ever sure to see us through
We surrender all to you
We say Jesus, You are Lord of all
In our doubt and belief
When we cannot hear or see
We say Jesus, You are Lord of all
And in life, until death
May we use our every breath
Saying Jesus, You are Lord of all
Ever faithful, ever true
Ever sure to see us through
We surrender all to you
We say Jesus, You are Lord of all
