What’s your idea for sharing Jesus and His love?

YG Shark Tank is a creative evangelism project where students and young adults create, pitch, and execute innovative outreach ideas for sharing Jesus Christ and His love.

We’ve modeled it after the evangelism shark tanks of the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists and Southeastern California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. Here’s an introduction to the idea from our friend Elder Rudy:

GUIDELINES

EVANGELISM ACTION: The shark tank proposal needs to clearly address one or more of the Six Actions of Evangelism: Love, Serve, Baptize, Equip, Plant, and Revitalize.
MISSION & VALUES: The shark tank proposal needs to clearly express the mission and values of Younger Generation Church: Intimacy, Community, Grace.
CREATED BY YOUTH & YOUNG ADULTS: The shark tank proposal can involve all ages, but needs to be created or collaboratively imagineered by a student or young adult. It is preferred that the proposal be led by a young person.
CONNECTED TO THE LOCAL CHURCH: The shark tank proposal needs to clearly connect people with Younger Generation Church and/or Arlington Seventh-day Adventist Church and/or Burton Adventist Academy.
RESULTS REVIEWED: The shark tank proposal needs to have a clearly defined timeframe. At the end of the project, a review/report of results needs to be presented, including what was learned through the experience.
GRANTS AWARDED: The shark tank proposal doesn’t need to involve money. However, if money is needed, a clearly itemized budget needs to be developed to which @YGchurch will determine awarding grants up to $200/proposal. At the conclusion of the project, an expenditure report will need to be provided if grant monies are awarded. [Grant awarding only available for proposals in the continental United States.]
CHRIST CENTERED: The shark tank proposal needs to above all be modeled after Christ Jesus with a genuine heart of love, compassion, and empathy for people. “If we say we are his, we must follow the example of Christ.” —1John‬ ‭2:6‬ ‭CEV‬‬

Sounds so simple, but it is so meaningful. Inspired by a project of the Blackhawk Church in Wisconsin, and with their gracious mentorship, YG adapted their OpenTable concept to afford newcomers an opportunity to share a series of home-based meals with other YGers. In a casual, informal home environment, OpenTable afforded dinner guests opportunity to meet each other and sharing about themselves in a relaxed more comfortable setting. **ORGANIZE AN ONLINE AND/OR IN-PERSON OUTREACH EVENT**

**LOVE LETTERS**
It doesn’t take a large budget or a lot of time, but it makes such an impact. Send letters to healthcare workers, to firemen, to the elderly in a retirement community, to teachers, and you can likely name a dozen other people who would love a letter from you. **MEDICAL MISSIONS TO COLUMBIA**
An update from @awr.360 — “On June 19 a group of brave volunteers from around the world landed in Cali, Columbia to set up and soon launch an incredible medical mission for the people of the city. By June 21 a tent city had been erected, supplies stocked, equipment set up, and dozens of volunteers prepared to serve. Within 4 days, the team of dedicated local and international volunteers served over 2000 patients and delivered over 3000 lifestyle, medical, and even chaplain services. Volunteer medical services included primary care, pediatrics, optometry, mental health, dentistry, pain management, women's health, and an on-site pharmacy. Other services included hair cuts, massage therapy, nutrition, legal services, and health seminars complete with live music and audience discussion. The four volunteers (3 nursing students and 1 nursing professor) from @southwesternau were instrumental members of the team blessed to serve in invaluable roles: Kimberli Alba in triage, Nathalie Ruch in pharmacy, Arrian Porter in women's health, and Dr. Lakicia Foster in health education. Our lives are forever changed by this opportunity to be collaborers with Christ. Thank you to @ygchurch and all those who supported the mission and this important work for Christ.”

**A TRIP TO THE ZOO**
Kyle Barrows with @spirituallifeswau had the idea of inviting area churches to a @southwesternau Sabbath outing to the @fortworthzoo He pitched it to @ygchurch tank and a great time was had by all!

HELPING THE HOMELESS STAY WARM
The @burtonadventistacademy 5th Grade Class proposed making blankets for the homeless as their @ygchurch Shark Tank project. Mentored by their teacher, Mrs. Debbie Bernet, the class partnered with @revivecommunitycare to distribute to the blankets to those in need. #YGSharkTank #BeJesus #BeYG
