SWN: SO WHAT NOW?
If you are inspired by a song, a scripture, or a sermon in YG, we want to encourage you to take it to the next step.

James 1:22 shares, “Put the word into action. If you think hearing is what matters most, you are going to find you have been deceived.”

The Voice paraphrase includes this commentary about this passage in James:
”God the Father is the giver of all things and is looking for every opportunity to bless us. But many people have difficulty trusting and receiving good things, even when those things come from God. The problem is that we not only have trouble trusting God’s work in our lives, but we also don’t always respond to God’s voice. People often hear the Scriptures but don’t really listen. People store truths in their brains but never put them to use. For James, the only good religion is religion lived out every day.”

To support your next steps in acting on the Word of GOD, YG’s linktree features an array of take home and take action resources. Click the above icon or here to access YG’s linktree.

• For those online, please place your prayers in our social media comments section during the live broadast so we may include them during our Arlington LIFE Online broadcast.
• Room 6 has been curated into a prayer room where you can spend quiet time in prayer or be prayed over in a more private setting. It will be open before and after @ygchurch
• Scroll to the bottom of the front page of http://ygchurch.com/ to submit prayer requests online.

WANTED: MENTORS & KIND HOSTS
Every generation benefits from mentors. Our vibrant young adult ministry, @ygchurch, is looking for Christ-following adults willing to pour into our collegians, young professionals, and young marrieds. If you have interest click the above icon or here and send us your contact information.

Here are more specifics of how awesome adults can impact the lives of our young adults:

• Roaming Hosts: Regularly roam the church sanctuary before and after YG to meet new faces and engage in warm, welcoming and short conversations.

• Single parenting Moms & Dads could use a 2-3 hour break from time to time. Maybe even a manicure or pedicure, while compassionate someones take care of their kids.

• Make a call to a young adult on behalf of YG just to say we're thinking of them, and if permitted pray for them.

• A single teen mom aspires to be a worship leader and musical artist and would benefit greatly from patrons supporting her dreams.

• Multiple new parents would benefit from "Grandparents on Demand," https://www.npr.org/2021/10/24/1048790487/an-indiana-town-is-wooing-new-residents-with-on-demand-grandparents

• Host a meal or two for young adults and others new to YG, https://arlingtonadventist.com/new-blog/2019/12/6/miyaygsummary

• A senior SMU film student is raising funds for a film based on his grandfather and would benefit from patrons sponsoring his film.

• Several of our young adults will be away from their family this holiday. An invitation to a holiday meal would be such a blessing.

• Many of our young adults have mental health needs, to which a compassionate adult would be so welcomed.

This list is comprised of specific young aduls who would benefit from your saying, "Yes," to acting on their need. If you have interest click the above icon or here and send us your contact information.

THE PATH TO VICTORY // YG CHURCH // SATURDAY 10:15AM CST
All our joy can resonate in God, and our thoughts of God can be delightful thoughts.

4 Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.
5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. |
9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. —Philippians 4:4-9 [KJV]

PURSUE GOD

Last week’s worship led by Abbi Minett, No Seat at the Table: The Battle for Our Mind.

NO SEAT AT THE TABLE: THE BATTLE FOR OUR MIND
The enemy is always on the prowl, seeking to fill our minds with destructive and harmful thoughts – fear, worry, insecurity, anxiety, and temptation to name a few. If you’ve ever thought – I’m not good enough, I’m not worthy enough, I’m not smart enough, then this series is for you.

1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. --Psalm 23

EXPERIENCE COMMUNITY

LOOKING FOR LIFEGROUP FACILITATORS

Whatever the case, we would love to equip you or your group to use “Don’t Give the Enemy a Seat at Your Table,” for your study. Click the above icon or email Pastor Allan for more information.

FIND SCRIPTURAL RELIEF FROM WORRY AND STRESS
One of my favorite inspirational authors, Max Lucado, is offering free an online Bible study based on his book, “Anxious for Nothing: Finding Calm in a Chaotic World.” I’d highly recommend using this resource with your family, among your peers, or even as the start of a digital LIFEgroup.

We were having a great conversation with our YG leaders and I had to explain that the title “Anxious for Nothing” was not diminishing the real anxiety we are experiencing about real things, it was rather religious language derived from a Bible passage shared in the voice of the King James translation:

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” —Philippians 4:6-7 [NKJV]

What fascinating times we live in! Click here to sign up for the online Bible study or click the above icon.

WINNING THE WAR ON WORRY // 7-DAY ONLINE DEVOTIONAL
Worry doesn’t have to be the defining narrative of your story. Through Jesus, you can win the war on worry and live free and at peace.

If you’re ready for that, begin a free 7-day journey that will help you understand why worry exists, and learn how to win the battle and wage war on worry.

Rooted in the truths of Pastor Louie Giglio’s newest book, Don’t Give the Enemy a Seat at Your Table, these devotions will help cultivate a deep sense of peace and confidence in who God is and how He will continue leading you every step of the way. Click the above icon or here to sign up.

AN INVITATION FROM AUTHOR LOUIE GIGLIO
I want to encourage you to walk through my devotional, Putting an "X" Through Anxiety.

Anxiety is a powerful giant that would like you to believe your life will never be normal again. But when we set our eyes on someone bigger and more powerful - Jesus, our giant slayer - we can find freedom.

If anxiety, worry, fear, or depression is the dread hanging over your life in these unprecedented days - I want to invite you to take a journey with me into the valley where these giants loom large - threatening, taunting, intimidating, incapacitating, and paralyzing us with threats of doom and demise.

I know this giant well, and have suffered from this valley in years past. Yet, I also know there is a way to overcome anxiety. I know firsthand that you can emerge on the other side of the depression and live to tell about someone who has already won the war.

If we're going to win, it is imperative for you and your circle to know that you are not standing helplessly alone in your valley. God Almighty is with us and He is fighting for us. In fact, He's already taken on every "goliath" and won!

Join me on this journey as we set our gaze on Jesus. We won't ignore that a behemoth called anxiety has its foot on our neck, but we will choose to lift our eyes and see someone bigger and more powerful - someone who loves us and plans to lead us back into the light.
