CUSTOMIZE A CHRISTMAS EVE CANDLELIGHT SERVICE
One of the holiday traditions we have enjoyed over the years has been to attend a Christmas Eve candlelight service. Although this year has presented unique challenges, we would encourage you to be creative and safe in your celebrations. As an example, we attended the Gateway Candlelight Service virtually. CHRISSY GABAN TO SERVE AS YG DIRECTOR
We are delighted to announce Chrissy Gaban as the Director of Younger Generation Church. In this next season of YG, we’re excited for Chrissy’s leadership in this capacity much like the founding of YG nearly 17 years ago where young adults innovated and led in every capacity of their ministry.
Hi, I’m Chrissy. When I’m not living through the shackles of COVID-19’s shelter in place, I enjoy traveling, hanging out with friends & visiting new restaurants. I currently am studying for my MBA. I’m passionate about community and cultivating my relationship with Jesus. If you want to get involved with YG, let me know! There’s always something to do.
Chrissy Gaban, BS, graduated from Union College with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration, an emphasis in management, and a minor in computer information systems. She is now a graduate student pursuing her Masters in Business Administration. While at Union, Chrissy served as CFO then Director for, The Well Worship, a young adult-led discipleship experience for the College View Seventh-day Adventist Church.

ADVENT IN A BAG: A FAMILY EXPERIENCE
Often we think of Advent as the church season of waiting - because it feels like we have to wait so long for Christmas to get here. However, the word Advent actually means coming. We are getting ready to remember Jesus coming in the form of a baby, we are praying for more of God’s presence with us each day and we are waiting and preparing for Jesus to one day come again.
How do you celebrate Advent as a family?
Thanks to FORM Kids, one way is through a program we're calling "Advent in a Bag." This is a collection of interactive activities and devotions that intentionally include Jesus in your Christmas preparations and celebration. Be sure to pick up your family's bag from the church lobby and enjoy four weeks of Christmas related devotional activities with your family. Happy Advent!
If your child attends Burton Academy, we'll deliver a bag for your family to the school. If you can't make it to the church to get yours, let us know and we'll do our best to deliver one to you. We're excited to celebrate Jesus together this year!

Ashten and Trent Fleming invite us once again to have prepared bags to assist the homeless not only during the holiday season, but throughout the year. Although both men and women experience homelessness, women are at particular risk. Find below a checklist to help you assemble a bag or several bags to have available in your car.
The items listed are suggestions for what to place in the blessing bag. Customize your bag, knowing you can put more or less of the checklist items. If you don’t have a handbag or tote to use, you can always use gallon or quart size, clear, ziplock bags. Thanks for being the best neighbors!
