WHEN YOU GIVE TO YG, YOU SUPPORT PRESIDENT BOSCO & ACF
Bosco Rusine was born and raised in Rwanda. He is currently a senior at the University of Texas Arlington (UTA) majoring in Biomedical Engineering and minoring in mechanical engineering, with plans to go into PhD/MD program. For the past two years, Bosco has served as the president of Adventist Christian Fellowship (ACF) at UTA where he is involved in leading worship, Bible study, and volunteering. He claims to be a Cowboys fan, but still debates whether it is real football, given his affinity with soccer.

Thanks to your generosity, Younger Generation Church has been able to send Bosco for ACF leadership training as well as support outreach activities of the ACF chapter at UTA. COMING ATTRACTIONS

foundation // resumes oct 22 // 1pm // fellowship hall
foundation is a brand new @ygchurch Bible study. we are so excited to spend time together studying the Word of God on Sabbath afternoons.

Are you looking for something more? I know I am. Since it’s beginning, the church has been a place for believers to gather and grow together and I’m very excited to tell you about a new opportunity to do that outside of Sabbath morning.

@ygchurch is starting a new Sabbath afternoon Bible study for young adults: foundation. The meaning behind the name is simple: we want Christ to be the foundation of our lives. Our mission is to grow spiritually through a deeper understanding of scripture and to fellowship with each other. This is an interactive discussion-based study going over what we believe as Adventist Christians. We will be looking at key verses and asking questions, discussing and learning what it means to be a young adult on fire for Christ.

This Sabbath: Potluck lunch at 1PM in Revive Community Care, and we will start our study at 2PM.

For more information please contact Danielle Quaye or check out our Instagram page: @foundation.yg

PRAXIS YOUNG ADULT CONFEFRENCE // OCT 28-29 // LOMA LINDA UNIVERSITY CHURCH
We’re excited for the Praxis Young Adult Conference October 28-29, created to inspire the current generation of young adults who want to live fully into who God made them to be—authentically and powerfully in Christ. Over 2 power packed days, we will worship, laugh with new friends, grow in our faith, think outside the box, and be challenged to live into the best version of ourselves.

This year we look into what it looks like to be resilient amidst years of hardship and struggle. Our inspiring keynote speaker Heather Thompson Day is focusing on relational resilience, along with our plenary session speaker Mike Planeta. This is not your season to be less than, give up or walk in fear, but to stand, move forward and be encouraged! Heather is a best selling Christian author, speaker, and professor, along with Mike—a professional baseball player and famed TV show Batchelor finalist. We have exciting breakout session leaders and panelists as they share on resilience, including Pastors Randy Roberts, Jamie Stodola, and Filip Milosavljevic, along with Seth Day, Madeline Mace , and Ezrica Bennett.

We hope you will be blessed by this conference, grow closer in community, and in your walk with God. There will be a unique time to network, meet the presenters, book signing at the store, café and worship. We hope you join us!

YG IS GOING TO PASSION CONFERENCE // DEC 28-30, 2022 // DICKIES ARENA, FORT WORTH
Rooted in the confession of Isaiah 26:8, Passion exists to glorify God by uniting students in worship, prayer and justice for spiritual awakening in this generation. From its start in 1995, the Passion movement has had a singular mission—calling students from campuses across the nation and around the world to live for what matters most. For us, what matters most is the name and renown of Jesus. We believe in this generation and are watching God use them to change the climate of faith around the globe.

Since the first gathering in 1997, Passion has had the privilege of encountering millions of students and 18-25 year olds, a sea of young people whose lives have been transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit. Their voice is getting louder as they rise, united as a generation, bringing hope and light to the world. Passion is more than music. More than events. Passion is a generation living for His Name. The wave is growing into a global awakening.

It’s going to be incredible! Don’t delay, let us know if you want to join us as we close out the year with Passion. Go with @ygchurch and get a discounted conference ticket at $67/person. For more info and to sign up, go to tiny.one/Passion23

DOOR HOLDERS FOR PASSION CONFERENCE
We use the term "Door Holder" instead of the word "volunteer." The term is borrowed from Psalm 84:10, which speaks of being a doorkeeper in the house of God.

At Passion, all volunteers are considered Door Holders — not just those who literally hold physical doors! From those who are serving in the background to those serving from the stage, we all share the same heartbeat to open the door for others to experience Jesus.

There are numerous ways for you to serve the students at Passion 2023. If you’re over the age of 25 and are willing to serve throughout the entire conference, we invite you click the above icon to submit your Door Holder application today!

THRIVING IN THE WORD
“All scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip His people to do every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Thriving in our faith requires us to spend quality time in the Bible. This entails more than just reading the Word each day. Thriving in the Word requires commitment, investment, and application. So today, I want to share seven practical tips that I hope will help you to thrive as you grow in your faith, learn more about Christ’s incredible love, and apply it in your journey with Jesus.

1. Pray each step of the way. God’s got your back.

2. Believe in the value of the Word. If your mindset is not in the right place, you won’t absorb what Christ is trying to tell you.

3. Make a plan and stick to it. Life gets busy and it’s easy to get distracted. Having a solid plan with a timeline and measurable objectives will keep you on track.

4. Equip yourself with resources. Whether it’s sister White or a non-denominational resource, prayerfully pairing your reading of the Word with varying perspectives will help you better understand what God is trying to say to you.

5. Study in community. While one on one time with Jesus is important, having Christ-minded friends whom you can discuss the concepts and stories with, makes the Bible that much more real and relevant.

6. Don’t get lost in the details. It is easy to get lost in the specifics of a passage rather than seeing the bigger picture of what God might be trying to tell you. Meditate on the big picture so what you read may be relevant to you personally.

7. Apply it to your life. Don’t just have devotions then go on with life as usual, find ways to apply the Word every day, because through doing so, you will Thrive to the next level of your faith in God!

I pray that these seven tips inspire you as you grow your faith in Jesus! —Tim Kosaka

PURSUE GOD

GROWING TOGETHER: FIND MY PEOPLE
You are not alone in feeling alone.

9 Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor:
10 If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up.
11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?
12 Though one may be overpowered,
    two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
–Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 [NIV]

In a world that's both more connected and more isolating than ever before, we’re often tempted to do life alone, whether because we’re so busy or because relationships feel risky and hard. In YG’s Winter series, Growing Together, glean fascinating relational insights, timeless Biblical truth, and authentic stories from the lives of our presenters.

Join your worship with ours. Saturdays, 10:15AM [Central]. live.ygchurch.com

wants to support your faith habits and spiritual growth as you strive to #BeJesus #BeYG. To this end, we invite you to join us in the coming days journeying through the devotional, "At the Table with Jesus."

Maybe your journey with Christ has been sporadic, filled with momentary bursts and desert times. It's said it takes about 66 days to form a new habit, so this might be just the time to return to the table Jesus has set to meet up with you.

Our desire and mission is for you to experience a deeper devotion with Christ Jesus, through intimacy, community, and grace. May you take a seat at the table and enjoy some time with Jesus.

EXPERIENCE COMMUNITY

foundation // saturdays 1pm // revive community care center
foundation is a brand new @ygchurch Bible study. we are so excited to spend time together studying the Word of God on Sabbath afternoons.

”This name was inspired by the concept of Christ being our One True Sure Foundation. (Isaiah 28:16 “So this is what the Sovereign Lord says:“See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who relies on it will never be stricken with panic.”)

Personally, this concept stands out to me because there are so many things that society tells young people to rely on: appearances, wealth, education, social media, etc. Even within the church, our focus can be on other things, which are important as well, but I believe it’s time we go back to weightier matters. 2 Peter 1:3 says “His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.” There are so many young adults trying to live a Godly life without the right tools! Many of us think we have to invent our own or use what the world tells us. He has given them all to us. One prominent way He does this is through the word.”
