See A Victory, Honey In The Rock, Tremble, Goodness Of God #WorshipSet #Oct8 10:15AM CDT fb.com/ygchurch #WeAreGrowingTogether #FindYourPeople #ygchurch

In a world that's both more connected and more isolating than ever before, we’re often tempted to do life alone, whether because we’re so busy or because relationships feel risky and hard. In YG’s Winter series, Growing Together, glean fascinating relational insights, timeless Biblical truth, and authentic stories from the lives of our presenters.

foundation // sat // 1pm // fellowship hall
foundation is a brand new @ygchurch Bible study. we are so excited to spend time together studying the Word of God on Sabbath afternoons.

Are you looking for something more? I know I am. Since it’s beginning, the church has been a place for believers to gather and grow together and I’m very excited to tell you about a new opportunity to do that outside of Sabbath morning.

@ygchurch is starting a new Sabbath afternoon Bible study for young adults: foundation. The meaning behind the name is simple: we want Christ to be the foundation of our lives. Our mission is to grow spiritually through a deeper understanding of scripture and to fellowship with each other. This is an interactive discussion-based study going over what we believe as Adventist Christians. We will be looking at key verses and asking questions, discussing and learning what it means to be a young adult on fire for Christ.

This Sabbath: Potluck lunch at 1PM in the Fellowship Hall, and we will start our study at 2PM.

For more information please contact Danielle Quaye or check out our Instagram page: @foundation.yg

FAMILY SYSTEMS SEMINAR: ADDICTION AND THE FAMILY // OCT 8, 2:30PM // ROOM 7
Addictions are not limited to things like alcohol or drugs. Pornography, technology, food, work, and even exercise are things around which we can have addictive behaviors. Even the pursuit of perfectionism can have an addictive element. These behaviors can have a profound impact on our lives. And when a family member is experiencing a mental, behavioral or substance use disorder it can affect more than just the person in need of recovery.

You are invited to participate in a presentation on navigating the challenges, emotions, and recovery from all types of addiction that impact the family. The seminar will be presented by Michal Anne Whitcomb, MA, LPC & Doug Dougherty, M.Ed, LPC from The Dallas Counseling Group.

Join us for a free Italian lunch in the Arlington Adventist Church fellowship hall after the Mosaic service, followed by the seminar at 2:30 p.m., on October 8, 2022 in room 7. We hope to see you all there.

CUMBRE HISPANA DE CRECIENDO JUNTOS: GROWING TOGETHER
On August 29-30, 2022 the Southwestern Union and its five conferences hosted the first Cumbre Hispana de CRECIENDO JUNTOS (Growing Together Hispanic Summit) on the campus of our Southwestern Adventist University. More on Growing Together, is in store as YG’s new series, but for now, enjoy this feature article in the Southwestern Union Record.

@YGCHURCH BOOK RECOMMENDATION: FIND YOUR PEOPLE

DOOR HOLDERS FOR PASSION CONFERENCE
We use the term "Door Holder" instead of the word "volunteer." The term is borrowed from Psalm 84:10, which speaks of being a doorkeeper in the house of God.

At Passion, all volunteers are considered Door Holders — not just those who literally hold physical doors! From those who are serving in the background to those serving from the stage, we all share the same heartbeat to open the door for others to experience Jesus.

There are numerous ways for you to serve the students at Passion 2023. If you’re over the age of 25 and are willing to serve throughout the entire conference, we invite you click the above icon to submit your Door Holder application today!

EXPERIENCE COMMUNITY

foundation // saturdays 1pm // revive community care center
foundation is a brand new @ygchurch Bible study. we are so excited to spend time together studying the Word of God on Sabbath afternoons.

”This name was inspired by the concept of Christ being our One True Sure Foundation. (Isaiah 28:16 “So this is what the Sovereign Lord says:“See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who relies on it will never be stricken with panic.”)

Personally, this concept stands out to me because there are so many things that society tells young people to rely on: appearances, wealth, education, social media, etc. Even within the church, our focus can be on other things, which are important as well, but I believe it’s time we go back to weightier matters. 2 Peter 1:3 says “His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.” There are so many young adults trying to live a Godly life without the right tools! Many of us think we have to invent our own or use what the world tells us. He has given them all to us. One prominent way He does this is through the word.”
