PROCESSING THE TRAGEDY OF SCHOOL SHOOTINGS
School shootings or other community violence can stir up a wide range of emotions in all of us. In the wake of such a tragedy, you and the young people around you might be feeling any of these emotions, or all of them at once.

In a culture desensitized toward violence, it can become too easy to look the other way. Words sometimes ring hollow, unable to fill the void left in the aftermath of tragedy after tragedy. But in the days and weeks following community violence, the young people in your home and church may want—or need—to process what happened with you.

We know this is not easy, so we’ve put together a few next-step resources you can utilize. —Dr. Kara Powell

ATTENTION BAA SENIOR FAMILIES: GRADUATION WEEKEND HACKS
This weekend will be an exciting time for you and your family, congratulations on this incredible weekend! Here’s a couple of suggestions to optimize your time together.

Arrive Early, Take Family Photos: On Sabbath, when everyone is dressed up, arrive early to church with your family to take photos with all the relatives.
Attend YG for Prime Baccalaureate Seating: Be blessed by our 10:15AM YG worship experience to insure you have your preferred seating for Baccalaureate. The transition between services is very tight, so you are best served to arrive for the earlier service should you have a seating preference.
• Help YG Stay Connected with Your Graduate: Complete our Class of 2022 registry form for your student completing grade school, college, university, grad school or trade school! https://tiny.one/2022Grad

On Sabbath, May 28, Mosaic service will be dedicated to the Burton Academy Class of 2022 for their Baccalaureate program! While all are welcome to celebrate this event with these young people, if you'd prefer a smaller crowd or a more typical worship service, you may want to plan to join us for Legacy, Outdoor, or YG services that day!

AYP CONVENTION: BRAVE HEARTS // JULY 29-31 // DFW METROPLEX

Moses had been through a lot from his childhood raised in royalty to following God’s calling as a messenger to Pharaoh, to the leader of God’s people. No matter what we face in life – through our good days and our not-so-great ones, God is our strength, song, and salvation. May we be faithful and brave in Him!

Brave Hearts: Lead with Your Life is a 3-day leadership convention infused with inspiring stories, rich and practical ideas, and engagement with leadership experts covering topics such as: Leading Yourself, Leading with Others, Leading with Each Other, and How to Lead.  Join hundreds of young professionals in gaining a meaningful experience that will help you integrate Biblical leadership principles and philosophy into your personal lives and leadership spaces within their work and church community.

PURSUE GOD

COMMENCE: SERVE & SCATTER
Abbi Minett is a rising junior theology major at Southwestern Adventist University. She has a passion for bringing others into a clear understanding of God’s heart through the presentation of the Gospel. Abbi is enthusiastic about learning languages, and is currently completing her minor in Biblical languages (Greek and Hebrew) and later plans to pursue fluency in Spanish. In her future pastoral ministry, Abbi plans to incorporate pastoral counseling into her career, as she recognizes the need for mental health to be emphasized within ministry. Above all, her primary goal is to know God and to make Him known in her interactions with others around her.
