JESUS IS OUR GREAT “I AM”
From author, Louie Giglio:
It has been an incredible journey through At The Table with Jesus and I hope that you are experiencing the development of a new mindset as you are committing to sit at the table with Jesus.

As we jump into week 5, we will be looking at the idea that Jesus is our great I Am.

Here is a little context. The statement, "I AM," originally comes from the Old Testament, where God called Moses to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt. Moses found himself standing before a burning bush, in the presence of God, and he questioned whether or not the Pharaoh or the people of Israel would believe his story. God called Moses into the rescue plan by stating, “Tell them I Am that I Am has sent you” (Exodus 3:14).

Isn’t that amazing? When Moses asked God who He was and what to tell the people, God told Him to use a unique but powerful name for God: I AM.

What a thought.

So, when Jesus says “Before Abraham was, I Am,” He is making the case that He was and is as great as God. This would have been blasphemous in the ears of His listeners because no one was allowed to claim to be as great as God...except God Himself.

This is how we understand the scripture that says, “Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). Jesus always was, Jesus always is, and Jesus forever will be.

In whatever situation you are in, He is.
He is enough.
He is able.
He is with you.
He is sufficient.
He is power.
He is love.
He is provision.
He is wisdom.
He is everything you need.
He is our great I Am.

The God of the ages is present in your moment right now. So lock eyes with Him today, open your heart to what He wants for your life today. Believe in what He can do in and through you today. Because Jesus is our great I Am today.

Check out the video above for a stunning look at what it means to know that we are invited to sit at the table with our great I Am.

LIFE AFTER HIGH SCHOOL
”It’s never too early to start thinking about life after high school. Our research shows that that when it comes to decisions made in college, students repeatedly pointed to the importance of their first two weeks. During these crucial first fourteen days, students make key decisions about sex, drinking, and other high-risk behaviors as well as about allegiance with a local church or on-campus ministry.

The decisions that students make during those two weeks can set them on a trajectory that lasts for the rest of their college experience. So today we're sharing a list of questions to ask any student before heading (back) to school.” —Dr. Kara Powell

COMING ATTRACTIONS

FULL LIFE CONFERENCE // AUGUST 13 // STARTING 9:00AM // ARLINGTON ADVENTIST CHURCH
Mark your calendars for August 13, 2022, and plan to attend the Full Life Conference with our keynote speaker, Dr. René Drumm. This year our focus is on whole family health. We hope this special Sabbath equips you with strategies for mental health resilience, well-adjusted coping, and effective parenting during times of high stress.

Unique content will be presented in all three services with afternoon breakout sessions after a free lunch. Plan to stay and take advantage of the entire experience.

Jesus came in order that we may have life to the full. Sometimes, though, the challenges of life and the pressures of family and relationships make that difficult to experience. The Full Life Conference is designed to assist Christians in realizing how full life can be for followers of Christ.

FEATURED SPEAKER: RENE DRUM, PHD, MSW
Dr. René Drumm has recently retired from the University of Southern Mississippi where she was a Professor of Social Work.  She has worked in Adventist higher education for more than 25 years. Believing that research is a vehicle to social change, she is committed to facilitating positive conversations with religious institutions to address social injustice. She has authored and co-authored numerous academic articles and book chapters.

René is married to Stanley Stevenson and has two married identical twin daughters and five beautiful grandchildren. René enjoys walking, sun and sand, and anything related to chocolate.

YG SPEAKER: PASTOR HEIDI JACKSON
Heidi Cruz Jackson, RN, is the Community Outreach Pastor and Director of REVIVE Community Care at the Arlington Seventh-day Adventist Church in Arlington, Texas. She also serves as the Women’s Ministry Coordinator, and enjoys providing pastoral care to the community as well as to the women of her church. Heidi started ministering to others through music before she could speak, when at the age of two, she hummed her first song at a local church.

Originally from Puerto Rico, her family relocated to Texas when she was four years old, but she never stopped singing for Jesus. She has enjoyed a lifetime of leading others in worship through music and has been given the opportunity to record professionally with various artists.

Pastor Heidi is also a Registered Nurse and previously worked as a Cardiovascular Operating Room Nurse at Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth Texas, before being called into pastoral ministry full time. She likes to say that she left the heart business for the business of the heart.

As a graduate of Southwestern Adventist University, Heidi met her future husband Jesse, when she joined a University music group of which he was also a part of. Together they have two boys, Jaylen and Jordan and enjoy singing together, meeting the needs of the community, and leading others to Christ, as a family.
