YARD SALE: BAA SENIORS BENEFIT // OCT 29, 1-4:00PM // BURTON ADVENTIST ACADEMY
The Burton Academy Senior Class is raising much-needed funds for their class trip, and they have an upcoming event that gives you TWO ways to help them out!
On Sunday, October 29 during Fall Fair, the Senior class will be hosting a fundraising garage sale. The first way you can help is by bringing your gently used items to a donation pick-up site at the church next Sabbath, October 28. Look for a drop-off truck on the north side of the building at the Revive Community Care entrance - bring your household items, clothing, trinkets, and treasures, and we'll help them find a new home!
Now for the 2nd way to help - come to the Senior Yard Sale at Fall Fair on Sunday, October 29 on the campus of Burton Academy! You could find your next favorite thing, AND you'll be helping the Seniors go to Disney! It's the perfect definition of a win-win!

Pastor Eden Samaniego is a triple major in Theology, English, and History at Southwestern Adventist University. This academic year Eden is serving as the Pastoral Intern for Younger Generation Church. He is passionate about explaining how the Bible invites us to join into the story of Jesus. Doesn’t the path of discipleship sometimes seem unclear? Sure, we know we’re supposed to grow as Christians and help others do the same, but spiritual growth often feels nebulous. And as church leaders, we often feel like we’ve tried every plan, Bible study, and small group to help people grow, and we wonder if anyone is actually changing.
Discipleship might not be as step-by-step as an instruction manual or as simple as directions on a map. But we do know what a disciple looks like, how disciples act and think, and what disciples create because we know Jesus. He’s our example who clarifies discipleship for us.
Younger Generation Church will be taking our leadership team to this conference to deepen our discipleship to Jesus and sharpen our devotion to each other. If you would like to attend, contact Pastor Allan with your interest.

YG SPEAKER: PASTOR RUSS LAUGHLIN
Pastor Russ Laughlin joined Southwestern Adventist University in 2012 as Vice President for Spiritual Development. Prior to that, he worked as an associate pastor, pastor, and youth pastor from 1986 to1995. In 1995, he became the Pastor for Youth Ministry at the Keene Seventh-day Adventist Church, where he remained until he came to the University. Pastor Russ has a B.A. in Theology from Southern Adventist University (1984) and a M.Div. from Andrews University (1987). He was ordained by the Florida Conference of Seventh-day Adventists in 1989 and received certification as a university chaplain in 2014 from the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists. He is active in the community, serving on church, city, and county boards. A seasoned speaker, presenter, and trainer in youth leadership, Pastor Russ also participates in several community service projects. Pastor Russ and his wife, Jeanne, have two children. He enjoys wakesurfing, motorcycle riding, and woodworking.

PASSION 2024 SCHOLARSHIPS
Every year, thousands of lives are changed at Passion. Radically changed. Eternally changed.
Because of that, we never want the cost of a ticket to Passion 2024 to be the factor that stops someone from being in the room. We hope to offer scholarships to deserving students who are otherwise unable to attend. A scholarship provides a ticket, through the generosity of others, to a student who may otherwise be unable to attend.
Here are two ways you can be a part:
1. Give a Scholarship: When you give, you are making a way for a student to experience Jesus at Passion 2024. If you want to be the answer to making a way for 18-25-year-olds to be at Passion 2024 we would be so grateful.
2. Apply for a Scholarship: If you are 18-25 years old and you are looking for a way to come to Passion 2024, please complete a scholarship application.
Our hearts are set on all that God has for us at Passion 2024. We pray that you would join us in helping make a way for students to be in the room, or that you would apply for a scholarship to join us at Passion 2024.

Young Texas Adventists provides great ministry support to young adults including young professionals. Pastor Justin Yang is available to speak, train, and resource you and your peers. He also publishes a regular newsletter filled with coming events and relevant resources.
