CREATIVE FAM COLLECTIVE is a creative conference for all artists, innovators, musicians, writers, dancers, enthusiasts, etc to come together as a community and be refreshed in your gifts with other creatives.

Mark your calendars and plan to join us for another Speaker Series Weekend, Sabbath, October 7. We're excited to welcome our special guest, Carl Wilkens, author of the book, I'm Not Leaving, the story of Wilkens' experience as a humanitarian aid worker and one of Americans who refused to leave Rwanda as thousands of expatriates and UN solders fled the country as the 1994 Rwandan genocide against the Tutsi was gaining deadly momentum. Working together with Rwandan colleagues they brought food, water and medicine to orphans trapped around Kigali.
These days Wilkens travels around the globe using the transformative process of storytelling to explore how restorative practices can safely guide us through the challenges of polarization, and harmful conflict.

We're delighted to have new Southwestern Adventist University Pastoral students joining us this academic year!
Our Pastoral Intern, Eden Samaniego [left] is a triple major in Theology, English, and History at Southwestern Adventist University. He is passionate about explaining how the Bible invites us to join into the story of Jesus. In his free time he enjoys coffee, tennis, and sunsets.
Our Pastoral Resident, Josh Nuñez [right] is a senior Theology major at Southwestern Adventist University. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and his family heritage is from the Dominican Republic. Josh likes to play piano, enjoys the outdoors, and is a sports enthusiast.

Doesn’t the path of discipleship sometimes seem unclear? Sure, we know we’re supposed to grow as Christians and help others do the same, but spiritual growth often feels nebulous. And as church leaders, we often feel like we’ve tried every plan, Bible study, and small group to help people grow, and we wonder if anyone is actually changing.
Discipleship might not be as step-by-step as an instruction manual or as simple as directions on a map. But we do know what a disciple looks like, how disciples act and think, and what disciples create because we know Jesus. He’s our example who clarifies discipleship for us.

Oddie Olazaran serves as the campus pastor for Burton Adventist Academy. He graduated with his Master of Divinity with a concentration in Youth and Young Adult Ministry at the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University. Throughout his time in ministry, Oddie has focused on working with youth and young adults. His wife, Madeline, works as a nurse practioner and has a creative side hustle in @maddyodesigns. Together, they have two beautiful dogs. Both he and his wife, enjoy outdoor adventures such as rock climbing, backpacking, and hiking.

TEXAS ARISE INTENSIVE
Hundreds have gathered from across @texasadventist and beyond to dive deeply into the Scriptures to explore the Story. So delighted to have spent the weekend with family.
President @demoraeselton shared:
"After many months of praying, planning, and dreaming, ARISE Texas kicked off this weekend with over 400 registered participants. This is the largest ARISE Intensive organized, and we are proud to be part of it. ARISE is 'a discipleship ministry that empowers you to be a disciple-making disciple in whatever path you pursue.' This partnership is between Texas Conference, Southwestern Adventist University, and Lightbearers. I hope that this weekend, we will learn how to be better disciples of Jesus so we can share His good news wherever we go."
