If you start your flight just a couple of degrees off, you will not end up at your destination. Without purpose, a church will drift. Let’s start 2023 on mission.

At @ygchurch we aim to deepen our devotion to Jesus through [1] pursuing intimacy with GOD, [2] experiencing community with each other, and [3] inspiring those around us with the hope of grace. foundation // mar 11, sat 1pm lunch, 2pm discussion // revive community care center
foundation is a young adult Bible study. spending time together studying the Word of God on Sabbath afternoons.

This name was inspired by the concept of Christ being our One True Sure Foundation.

“So this is what the Sovereign Lord says:“See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who relies on it will never be stricken with panic.” —Isaiah 28:16

”Personally, this concept stands out to me because there are so many things that society tells young people to rely on: appearances, wealth, education, social media, etc. Even within the church, our focus can be on other things, which are important as well, but I believe it’s time we go back to weightier matters. 2 Peter 1:3 says, ‘His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.’ There are so many young adults trying to live a Godly life without the right tools! Many of us think we have to invent our own or use what the world tells us. He has given them all to us. One prominent way He does this is through the Word.” —Dani

WEEK OF MISSION AT BURTON ADVENTIST ACADEMY
Partnering with ADRA International, Burton Adventist Academy spent this week ramping towards their short term mission trip giving special Biblical focus to compassion, missions, and community service. This included underclassmen serving at Revive Community Care, and upperclassmen providing community service at Samaritan’s House in Arlington. Thank you so much to our students, ADRA and BAA for being intentional about inspiring those around us with the hope of grace.

THANKS FOR THE BOBA!
Thanks to ADRA for sponsoring the AYP Boba Meet up last weekend at Royal Tea Arlington! So great to enjoy some fellowship and fun specialty drinks with all the Adventist Young Professionals from across the DFW.

THANKS ADRA INTERNATIONAL!
What a great bridge weekend with Affinity Worship, Angel and Kenzie from ADRA giving special emphasis to justice, compassion, and love. Love what the Adventist Development and Relief Agency is doing around the world to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

WHEREVER GOD PLANTS YOU BE JESUS, BE YG
Attended the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists’ Youth & Young Adult Ministry Advisories this past week. What a delight to see many @ygchurch members making a difference wherever they are now. Pastor Chelsy Tyler is now at New Hope Church in Fulton, MD doing great things in youth, young adult, and volunteer ministries. Tim Kosaka had the honor of presenting Adventist Young Professionals for the young adult ministry advisory. Got to visit with Pastor Kayla Goodman, coming over from her graduate studies at the SDA Theological Seminary to represent her peers at the advisory. Praise GOD that He continues His mission in our lives beyond the four walls of our church building!
