BACK TO SCHOOL BARBECUE BASH // AUG 8, 6:30PM // BURTON ADVENTIST ACADEMY
When: Thursday, August 8, 6:30-9:00 pm
**Where:** Burton Adventist Academy (on the blacktop, baseball field, & in Hayes Gym to escape the heat!)… with shuttling provided from the Arlington SDA Church once our parking areas are full
**Who’s Invited:** Burton Academy families, area church members, and friends of Burton (and those interested in checking out Burton of course!)
**What to Bring:** Your family’s favorite barbecue dish or side dish with a serving spoon/utensil
**What to Expect:** A festive potluck-style barbecue cookout, bounce houses, lawn games, and of course…. a whole lot of delicious food, fun and fellowship for all! Hot dogs, drinks, and ice pops provided.

We’re not meeting this weekend in support of the Rebirth-day Celebration in the lobby for the Murillo twins.
Next Sabbath, August 17, right after Younger Generation Church [Post YG], join us in Room 5 for conversations around the sermon, the study into the Gospel of Mark, and related issues to identity/faith life. Enjoy community and open discussion. All are welcome.

**YOUNG WOMEN’S LIFE GROUP RESUMES AUG 10 // SATURDAYS, 12:00PM // ROOM 7**
We’re not meeting this weekend in support of YG’s 20th Anniversary.
Next Saturday, young women are invited to a bible discussion group meeting at 12:00PM in room 7. All young adult women are invited to attend. Contact Taye or Precious for more information.

Attention all youth! UG Studies is a Bible study FOR high schoolers LED by high schoolers! Solely focusing on the Bible and what it can teach us, we have engaging discussions together as we journey through the Word of God. If you are a high school student who has been wanting a community your age that focuses on Scriptures and open discussions, then we invite you to make your way downstairs to the Revive Community Care Center at 10:15! In this free one-hour webinar, author and senior pastor Jim Putman will discuss how church leaders can cultivate authentic relational discipleship in their lives and ministries. CHEERS TO 20 YEARS: KNOW YOURSELF [LEGACY SERMON]

We celebrated the 20th Anniversary of Younger Generation Church, August 3, 2024. All three morning worship services featured a unique message, and the YG Night of Worship was held that evening.

LEGACY SPEAKER: MIKE TUCKER
Mike Tucker is Speaker Emeritus of Faith for Today Television. For seventeen years, he served as the senior pastor of Arlington Seventh-day Adventist Church, where he founded Younger Generation Church, their vibrant young adult ministry. Now retired, Mike’s career included education, medical and psychiatric chaplaincy, pastoral ministry, and television. He has authored nearly twenty books and continues to conduct seminars like Mad About Marriage and Good Grief.

He lives in Grand Prairie, TX. with his wife, Pam, a gospel singer from Canada, and pastoral care minister, who currently focuses on hospital chaplaincy. Mike enjoys ministry with Pam, and spending time with his wife, daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren. He describes himself as the happiest bad golfer you’ll ever meet!

CHEERS TO 20 YEARS: I’VE GOT REASONS TO PRAISE [@YGCHURCH SERMON]

YG SPEAKER: JULIAN HUMPHREY-DAVIS
Jewlz Davis is a dedicated follower of Jesus and active member of @ygchurch. He relocated from Tennessee to Texas in 2018 to work at the University of Texas Arlington. In 2021, driven by a passion for justice and service, Jewlz embarked on a challenging journey by starting law school at the University of Texas School of Law. After three years of rigorous study and commitment, Jewlz proudly graduated from law school in 2024. Outside of academic and professional pursuits, Jewlz continues to be an enthusiastic participant in church activities and community outreach. With a firm foundation in faith and law, Jewlz is poised to make a significant impact in both fields.

Jewlz is married to the love of his life, Mrs. Crystal Humphrey-Davis.

MOSAIC SPEAKER: A ALLAN MARTIN
A Allan Martin, PhD, is the teaching pastor of Younger Generation Church, the vibrant young adult ministry of the Arlington Seventh-day Adventist Church in Texas [USA]. Dr. Martin serves the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists [NAD] as point for the Growing Together initiative in collaboration with Young Adult LIFE and the Fuller Youth Institute.

He and his wife, Deirdre Rivera-Martin, tour internationally, speaking about relationships as well as equipping new generations in Christian lifestyle and leadership. Their daughter, Alexandria, is a doctoral candidate with the Loma Linda University Health CRNA program, residing in Southern California with her husband Kevin Nye, PTA, while Allan and Deirdre continue to reside in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.

**MUCH APPRECIATION TO KARLA DECHAVEZ, YG20 EXECUTIVE PRODUCER**
Karla Dechavez is among the original members and worship leaders for Younger Generation Church. She has served in almost every leadership role with @ygchurch and we are so grateful for her vision for our 20th anniversary. Karla is a physician recruiter for AdventHealth during the day, but a closet event planner by night. She’s been married to James for 15 years and has 9 year old Eli, who acts like he owns the church, the basketball court, and the world. In her free time, Karla enjoys doing absolutely nothing while sitting underneath the AC vent.
