WINNING THE WAR ON WORRY // 7-DAY ONLINE DEVOTIONAL
Worry doesn’t have to be the defining narrative of your story. Through Jesus, you can win the war on worry and live free and at peace.

If you’re ready for that, begin a free 7-day journey that will help you understand why worry exists, and learn how to win the battle and wage war on worry.

Rooted in the truths of Pastor Louie Giglio’s newest book, Don’t Give the Enemy a Seat at Your Table, these devotions will help cultivate a deep sense of peace and confidence in who God is and how He will continue leading you every step of the way. Click the above icon or here to sign up.

It’s a daily choice I need to make to keep my eyes fixed and focused on my Shepherd and spend time with him at his table for two.

    my cup overflows.” —Psalm 23:5

ETHAN’S SENIOR THESIS FILM: BOPPIE
I am Ethan Gueck, a senior at Southern Methodist University majoring in film production. I need your help, asking you, my family, friends, and supporters to help me tell a story that needs to be heard.

My senior thesis film Boppie is inspired by and in honor of my grandpa Jim Maxwell or as I would call him "Boppie".

Boppie is a film about a young man who refuses to come to terms with his grandpa's imminent death. This is a coming-of-age story that tackles themes such as grief, perfection, and what it means to live. It’s about accepting the harsh realities of life and making connections despite the pain. For more information about the film click here.

In the next few days, we will be launching a crowdfunding campaign to raise the funds for this film. In order for this campaign to have as much success as possible, we need as many supporters as possible to donate right as it launches. Click this link to follow the campaign so you will be ready to donate when it goes live. We can’t wait to have you be a part of creating this movie! —Ethan

_______________
I AM SECOND 2021

Discover a new and different way of living. This is for people yearning to be known. It is for those who are weary from all their many efforts to feel significant.

How blessed is God! And what a blessing he is! He’s the Father of our Master, Jesus Christ, and takes us to the high places of blessing in him. Long before he laid down earth’s foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love. Long, long ago he decided to adopt us into his family through Jesus Christ. (What pleasure he took in planning this!) He wanted us to enter into the celebration of his lavish gift-giving by the hand of his beloved Son. –Ephesians 1:3-6 [Message]

IA2 FIVE STEPS TOWARD A BETTER PRAYER LIFE
Here is the PDF of 5 Steps Towards a Better Prayer Life, a new resource from I Am Second that walks through a simple plan to intentionally improve your prayer life.

AN INVITATION FROM AUTHOR LOUIE GIGLIO
I want to encourage you to walk through my devotional, Putting an "X" Through Anxiety.

Anxiety is a powerful giant that would like you to believe your life will never be normal again. But when we set our eyes on someone bigger and more powerful - Jesus, our giant slayer - we can find freedom.

If anxiety, worry, fear, or depression is the dread hanging over your life in these unprecedented days - I want to invite you to take a journey with me into the valley where these giants loom large - threatening, taunting, intimidating, incapacitating, and paralyzing us with threats of doom and demise.

I know this giant well, and have suffered from this valley in years past. Yet, I also know there is a way to overcome anxiety. I know firsthand that you can emerge on the other side of the depression and live to tell about someone who has already won the war.

If we're going to win, it is imperative for you and your circle to know that you are not standing helplessly alone in your valley. God Almighty is with us and He is fighting for us. In fact, He's already taken on every "goliath" and won!

Join me on this journey as we set our gaze on Jesus. We won't ignore that a behemoth called anxiety has its foot on our neck, but we will choose to lift our eyes and see someone bigger and more powerful - someone who loves us and plans to lead us back into the light. Click the above icon or here to join Louie’s devotional.

FIND SCRIPTURAL RELIEF FROM WORRY AND STRESS
One of my favorite inspirational authors, Max Lucado, is offering free an online Bible study based on his book, “Anxious for Nothing: Finding Calm in a Chaotic World.” I’d highly recommend using this resource with your family, among your peers, or even as the start of a digital LIFEgroup.

We were having a great conversation with our YG leaders and I had to explain that the title “Anxious for Nothing” was not diminishing the real anxiety we are experiencing about real things, it was rather religious language derived from a Bible passage shared in the voice of the King James translation:

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” —Philippians 4:6-7 [NKJV]

What fascinating times we live in! Click here to sign up for the online Bible study or click the above icon.

HOW TO START A SMALL GROUP? JUST DO IT!
It’s great when small groups work. It is awesome when people enjoy one another’s company in a friendly environment, when they find the discussion appealing, when they grow spiritually, and when the leader feels adept at knitting together the experience in genuinely edifying ways for everyone. But it’s not easy to achieve this kind of interaction. In this vodcast, host Jose Cortes Jr. enjoys a compelling conversation with guest Vanessa Hairston. How to start a small group? Just do it!

Vanessa Hairston is a seminary student at Andrews University with an undergraduate degree in education from Southern Adventist University.

BE FRUITFUL: A YG REFLECTION
Over the past seventeen years, GOD has blessed Younger Generation Church in so many ways. Although it is great to have likes from followers, well attended events, inspiring programs, even baptism counts, and offering totals, it’s important to remember Christ’s challenge to make ministry about connection with Him.

1-3 “I am the Real Vine and my Father is the Farmer. He cuts off every branch of me that doesn’t bear grapes. And every branch that is grape-bearing he prunes back so it will bear even more. You are already pruned back by the message I have spoken.

4 “Live in me. Make your home in me just as I do in you. In the same way that a branch can’t bear grapes by itself but only by being joined to the vine, you can’t bear fruit unless you are joined with me.

5-8 “I am the Vine, you are the branches. When you’re joined with me and I with you, the relation intimate and organic, the harvest is sure to be abundant. Separated, you can’t produce a thing. Anyone who separates from me is deadwood, gathered up and thrown on the bonfire. But if you make yourselves at home with me and my words are at home in you, you can be sure that whatever you ask will be listened to and acted upon. This is how my Father shows who he is—when you produce grapes, when you mature as my disciples.

9-10 “I’ve loved you the way my Father has loved me. Make yourselves at home in my love. If you keep my commands, you’ll remain intimately at home in my love. That’s what I’ve done—kept my Father’s commands and made myself at home in his love.

11-15 “I’ve told you these things for a purpose: that my joy might be your joy, and your joy wholly mature. This is my command: Love one another the way I loved you. This is the very best way to love. Put your life on the line for your friends. You are my friends when you do the things I command you. I’m no longer calling you servants because servants don’t understand what their master is thinking and planning. No, I’ve named you friends because I’ve let you in on everything I’ve heard from the Father.

16 “You didn’t choose me, remember; I chose you, and put you in the world to bear fruit, fruit that won’t spoil. As fruit bearers, whatever you ask the Father in relation to me, he gives you.

17 “But remember the root command: Love one another. —John 15:1-17 [Message]

When we connect with Jesus, and experience His love, we are not only blessed, we become the blessing. In reflection on this passage in the Gospel of John, I marvel at the tremendous blessing each and every one of you are to me and to YG. At this month’s church board meeting, we will share just a small sample of how many of you are not only blessing YG, but are also blessing the world for His glory.
