I AM SECOND 2021
Discover a new and different way of living. This is for people yearning to be known. It is for those who are weary from all their many efforts to feel significant.

How blessed is God! And what a blessing he is! He’s the Father of our Master, Jesus Christ, and takes us to the high places of blessing in him. Long before he laid down earth’s foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love. Long, long ago he decided to adopt us into his family through Jesus Christ. (What pleasure he took in planning this!) He wanted us to enter into the celebration of his lavish gift-giving by the hand of his beloved Son. –Ephesians 1:3-6 [Message]

COMING ATTRACTIONS

ETHAN’S SENIOR THESIS FILM: BOPPIE
I am Ethan Gueck, a senior at Southern Methodist University majoring in film production. I need your help, asking you, my family, friends, and supporters to help me tell a story that needs to be heard.

My senior thesis film Boppie is inspired by and in honor of my grandpa Jim Maxwell or as I would call him "Boppie".

Boppie is a film about a young man who refuses to come to terms with his grandpa's imminent death. This is a coming-of-age story that tackles themes such as grief, perfection, and what it means to live. It’s about accepting the harsh realities of life and making connections despite the pain. For more information about the film click here.

In the next few days, we will be launching a crowdfunding campaign to raise the funds for this film. In order for this campaign to have as much success as possible, we need as many supporters as possible to donate right as it launches. Click this link to follow the campaign so you will be ready to donate when it goes live. We can’t wait to have you be a part of creating this movie! —Ethan

PURSUE GOD

Last week’s worship led by Vice President Gabriel Molina, I Am Second 2021: Building Fundamentals.

I AM SECOND 2021: BUILDING FUNDAMENTALS
“I am with you, always.” It’s such a a beautiful phrase and it is so relevant when it comes to building fundamentals because it describes a God who just wants to spend time with us and just be with us, just like a Best Friend would. Always.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” —Matthew 28:19-20 [NKJV]

Our speaker this weekend is Gabe Molina:
"I’m Gabriel Molina and I am currently a senior at Burton Adventist Academy. I am the Student Association Religious Vice President for the high school. Some fun facts: My favorite sports are soccer and baseball, and I have been playing the violin for the past 15 years of my life. Looking forward to preaching for YG, my topic, Building Fundamentals."

WINNING THE WAR ON WORRY // 7-DAY ONLINE DEVOTIONAL
Worry doesn’t have to be the defining narrative of your story. Through Jesus, you can win the war on worry and live free and at peace.

If you’re ready for that, begin a free 7-day journey that will help you understand why worry exists, and learn how to win the battle and wage war on worry.

Rooted in the truths of Pastor Louie Giglio’s newest book, Don’t Give the Enemy a Seat at Your Table, these devotions will help cultivate a deep sense of peace and confidence in who God is and how He will continue leading you every step of the way. Click the above icon or here to sign up.

Many of his books have been translated into Spanish, Portuguese, Finnish, Japanese, and the Korean languages. He also takes special delight in seminars and presentations to non-specialists who can make practical use of the material in the real world.

Dr. Paulien has traveled to the seven last cities mentioned in the book of Revelation and filmed a series of DVDs on location for the Hope Channel; written chapters on Daniel and Revelation and the apostle Paul for high school religion textbooks for the Adventist church; and conducted many television and radio interviews over the years. BE FRUITFUL: A YG REFLECTION
Over the past seventeen years, GOD has blessed Younger Generation Church in so many ways. Although it is great to have likes from followers, well attended events, inspiring programs, even baptism counts, and offering totals, it’s important to remember Christ’s challenge to make ministry about connection with Him.

1-3 “I am the Real Vine and my Father is the Farmer. He cuts off every branch of me that doesn’t bear grapes. And every branch that is grape-bearing he prunes back so it will bear even more. You are already pruned back by the message I have spoken.

4 “Live in me. Make your home in me just as I do in you. In the same way that a branch can’t bear grapes by itself but only by being joined to the vine, you can’t bear fruit unless you are joined with me.

5-8 “I am the Vine, you are the branches. When you’re joined with me and I with you, the relation intimate and organic, the harvest is sure to be abundant. Separated, you can’t produce a thing. Anyone who separates from me is deadwood, gathered up and thrown on the bonfire. But if you make yourselves at home with me and my words are at home in you, you can be sure that whatever you ask will be listened to and acted upon. This is how my Father shows who he is—when you produce grapes, when you mature as my disciples.

9-10 “I’ve loved you the way my Father has loved me. Make yourselves at home in my love. If you keep my commands, you’ll remain intimately at home in my love. That’s what I’ve done—kept my Father’s commands and made myself at home in his love.

11-15 “I’ve told you these things for a purpose: that my joy might be your joy, and your joy wholly mature. This is my command: Love one another the way I loved you. This is the very best way to love. Put your life on the line for your friends. You are my friends when you do the things I command you. I’m no longer calling you servants because servants don’t understand what their master is thinking and planning. No, I’ve named you friends because I’ve let you in on everything I’ve heard from the Father.

16 “You didn’t choose me, remember; I chose you, and put you in the world to bear fruit, fruit that won’t spoil. As fruit bearers, whatever you ask the Father in relation to me, he gives you.

17 “But remember the root command: Love one another. —John 15:1-17 [Message]

When we connect with Jesus, and experience His love, we are not only blessed, we become the blessing. In reflection on this passage in the Gospel of John, I marvel at the tremendous blessing each and every one of you are to me and to YG. At this month’s church board meeting, we will share just a small sample of how many of you are not only blessing YG, but are also blessing the world for His glory.

Click the above icon or here to enjoy the report of how GOD is using YG to mentor next generations. Thank you for being fruitful. #BeJesus #BeYG
