DEAR CHURCH: VOICES OF ADVENTIST YOUNG ADULTS
Every day, young adults are deciding whether or not to leave the Church. Rather than simply asking, "Why?" we wanted to ask another question: "Can you tell us your story?" Dear Church is a ten-part series that narratively tells the stories of young adults in the Seventh-day Adventist community. Each episode concludes with the guest sharing a personal letter they’ve written to the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

"If you could say anything to the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, what would you say?" This is the question Pastor Aren Rennacker had for young adults in the Seventh-day Adventist community. The answers he began to receive led him to a deeper journey than he expected.

In this first episode of ten, listen as Pastor Aren speaks with various young adults, as well as one of the leading voices for young adult involvement in the Adventist Church. Click the above icon or here to listen to episode one on Spotify.

ADVENT NEXT: GROWING YOUNG NEXT GENERATION CHURCH
[Premiered April 30, 2020] Advent Next is a theological podcast curated for curious faith discussions. Our guest is Dr. A. Allan Martin, the teaching pastor at Younger Generation Church. In our current era of quarantine and isolation, I’m sure the question on many minds is how will the church create community in the days ahead? One thing I’m sure we’ve learned, by being deprived of it, is that community IS deeply important. Community is vitally connected to what it means to be human. So this episdoe, we have Dr. Martin, a former professor at Andrews University and research facilitator for one of Barna Group’s studies called Adventist Millennial Research exploring what are the key components for growing vibrant communities of faith.

GRATITUDE

MENTORS MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Our worship leaders, elders in training, parents, and young adult members benefit from these time of prayer and community.

ADVENT HEALTH INTERNS EXPERIENCE ARLINGTON SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH
As young adults engage in career internships, many are afforded exceptional mentorship and a structured introduction to their workplace organizations. Several of these emerging adults will go on to leadership roles and possibly executive positions. But what would happen if ministry service was also part of the internship experience?

STUDENT INTERNS, RESIDENTS, AND ELDERS IN TRAINING
What a blessing to have all kinds of young people learning about leadership, ministry, volunteer service. Keep an eye out as we will soon have Pastoral Interns, Khadim Alyasiri and Luyando Chifwepa, from Southwestern Adventist University. Be sure to welcome them.

The above photo features YG student interns, Eli Dechavez and Nathan Masenda, serving goldfish to all the famished church members following Mosaic worship service.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE
September 17th, Kevin and Alexa Nye celebrated their one year anniversary. Dee and I are thankful for so many miracles in our lives, so many tender mercies from our Father. The joy and bliss of our daughter, and the gift of a son who loves her and GOD deeply--for these overwhelming blessings, we are deeply grateful.
